THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 100 PM EST SATURDAY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL SENECA AND NORTH CENTRAL WYANDOT COUNTIES...
Effective: 07:33 EST on 01-13-2018
Expires: 09:00 EST on 01-14-2018
At 441 PM EST, emergency management reported an ice jam on the Sandusky River near the Seneca and Wyandot county line. Minor flooding was occurring with this jam as water was backed onto County Highway 37 and 29. Rain has transitioned over to snow so additional river rises are expected to be minimal. Ice jams can move and shift unexpectedly so rapid river rises and falls can occur. If the jam breaks up tonight than ice and flood waters could flood portions of southern Seneca County. Report flooding to local officials. This flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Seneca and north central Wyandot Counties west of Sycamore.
